16/9/2018 probably the most beautiful music in the world | premiere | Spółdzielnia Muzyczna Contemporary Ensemble | Sacrum Profanum 2018

Spółdzielnia Muzyczna Contemporary Ensemble presents Project $półdzielnia which aims to break the taboo, openly speaking about the subject of money in art. As a starting point, taking their own experiences in the world of contemporary music, composers also draw a broader reflection on capitalism, commercialism or consumer society. The composers of the young generation will be invited to write the compositions: Teonika Rożynek, Marta Śniady, Mikołaj Laskowski, Paweł Malinowski and Piotr Peszat, each of whom in their own way will face the issues of commercialization, finances, luxury, and labor relations. The breaks between the songs will be filled with advertising blocks, simulating the experience of using free streaming services, which even the highest music can violently stop advertising. At the end, the curator’s commentary with dry numbers will outline the financial side of the concert: sources and amount of receipts, costs and amount of fees.
